'Between Eras' & 'Crazy Cricket, India'
I have had cartoons published on The Day In The Life Of India (Times Of India) Website in recent weeks. One piece of mine has been shortlisted for an award for 2011. It is entitled, 'Classic Cricket' and depicts a Village Cricket Match against a lavish stadium backdrop.
I am currently releasing a range of postcards displaying this and other designs under the banner of 'Between Eras' which capsulates the India of today: A nation experiencing economic expansion amidst an ever developing environment. An example of this is 'The Red Light Is The Equalizer' which my wife Sherene can accept all the credit for the concept... Imagine just about every mode of transport, driven by all walks of life, all together within one frame... All held at one time, in one place. Cue the red traffic light.
'Sweet Dreams'
Currently, I am immersing myself in an ambitious story book for kids. I have given the task of illustrating to my son, Michael. He has a real passion for drawing and colouring all manner of things, such as lions in all their golden glory, shiny cars, mean and savage crocodiles, yellow dinosaurs and so on. I will remove various blemishes of the sketch pad pages which showed up on the scanner. The story is based on the stories I tell him at bedtime about a yellow dinosaur who holds the sacred secret of sweet dreams. Night after night, he takes Michael on a journey through the Dream Stars and asks for nothing in return but a solid meal and a good night sleep, away from his snoring dinosaur friends in the Scale Caves.
In actual fact, Michael has already completed his part of the project by drawing the pictures which accompany the words... Plenty of words have been jotted down but far too many I fear and not necessarily in the right order either. My wife, Sherene has been assigned the task of proof reading. If this book ever makes it to the publishing stage, the author will be known as ‘The Fenn-Cook Family’
By Michael Fenn Cook, Age 4
Details of publishing will hopefully be released on this site in the not TOO distant future. Watch this space...
