Hi, Folks - I held the very first 'Komic Klass' on 3rd and 4th March 2012, a two day workshop (2 hours in each) in Gurgaon, aimed towards children (suggested age range between 5 and 10 years) who would really love to learn more about the comic book format and how to each create a comic character of their very own... Actually, they would not even have to be that into it. Those who attended were informed that they would be well and truly into comics by the end of it all - Either that, or driven absolutely nuts by them!
The 1st class on Sat 3rd March explored the comic book format and its origins including the superheros of the 1930s during the Golden Age of Comics in the USA, followed by the process of creating a brand new comic character, and drawing him/he/it in different poses. During the course of the drawing, I gave each child encouragement and my own insight into creating a character that can really bring a story to life!
The 2nd class on Sun 4th March involved bringing a story together to involve the characters each and every Komic Klass student created the previous day.
3 teams of 2 were paired together to produce exciting new stories which would not look out of place in Landmark's comic section!
After the workshop, the budding comic artists each received a life-long membership card or mini certificate advising that the holder has reached high levels of creativity in the field of comic art. They were also told they would then have their efforts treated further by Crazy Comics in a graphic novel/comic format and e-mailed back to their proud parents!

So... After a couple of months or so (thanks for your patience, Komic Klassmates!), I bring you all a glimpse of how your freehand comics could look if they made it to a comic publisher. I used various layers, texts, colours and filters (effects) from the computer to treat the already amazing artwork you provided during those 2 days back in March. The next time you open a comic in a shop and look through it, you will see similar styles to those I have adopted here. Enjoy these...

About Crazy Comics:
The name ‘Crazy Comics’ was born directly out of my unworldly fascination with comics which goes back to 1997, while I was studying Media and Film during University... At that time, I took an interest in various ‘suitable for mature readers’ material including ‘Hellraiser’ and ‘Sandman’ although I was quite partial to ‘Fat Freddie’s Cat’ and my old ‘Red Dwarf’ comics also. I realised at this point that I didn’t want to do anything else apart from creating comics for the rest of my days.
Having said that, I only produced 3 titles in all under the Crazy Comics banner... and actually, each one finished before they really got going. I would come up with a storyline I was happy with, create 1 issue and decide all of a sudden that I wanted to work on a different storyline entirely... The result: 3 seperate titles with pilot episodes, each ending on... well, cliff hangers... but cliff hangers which essentially, would never get to offer any sign of a conclusion. These now legendary 1st issues stemmed from the following titles...
The Egg stars... well, The Egg and his ruthless owner Isley Petherton. The story explores the conflicting worlds and minds of cartoonist and cartoon creation as they swap dimensions. To begin with, this is a seemingly mutual decision with Isley promising The Egg a chance to experience touch, taste, love etc on Planet Earth. In return, all he wants to do is visit The Egg's world for a while and experience his own artistic subconscious first hand. Little does The Egg know that Isley has absolutely no intention on returning. This leaves The Egg wondering (for a short while) what on Earth he is running away from.
Puchi Cat (2004):
Puchi Cat (2004):
Puchi-Cat charts the adventures of a 'Girl-Warrior' battling for favour in this Good Versus Evil epic set on the illustrious planet Seaforn. Doomed in returning to its previous state as a planet plagued by war, Puchi-Cat leaps into action. She is thrown into a situation anti-comedy with Tobias Mottleback, a terrible journalist, who owes his success to his old Geography teacher... and Puchi-Bear, a creature who's sense of humour stretches to the imagination of putting things where they don't belong.
Having come to terms with the murder of Qualandya's only surviving war hero in the face of a further imminent war with Elbaneskua, she realises that she is the only chance the planet has of achieving total peace. The task proves difficult however as once fellow 'Puchida' Xouvines Serihound, now a traitor to his people, has plans to physically summon the ghosts of Elbaneskua's glorius past and virtually consume the planet that rejected him. Serihound is not so seemingly indestructable however. He is mismatched at the author's pleasure, with Glumpus Salhuwix who to be fair to him, is a total and utter simpleton.
Seaforn - An Age Of Conflict (2005):
As a spin off of Puchi-Cat, this mini comic/graphic novella series charts the many events, specifically significant battles, leading up to Puchi-Cat's current day where she finds herself having to save the planet Seaforn from the clutches of Xouvines and the Timpost (Army of Ghosts).
Contact Crazy Comics now to order a copy of any of the above. You can even have a sequel produced for any of the above titles (if I receive enough requests for one via this blogspot!) and every Crazy Comics blogger will receive a special dedication in the next issue...
